Checkers and Chess are both all about skill

In most English speaking countries around the world, children begin to play games at an early age. Checkers and Chess are two of the first games children will be introduced to when they are old enough to understand the concepts. Checkers is a game that many people take to very easily and will enjoy it through out their lives. Chess is usually a game that catches your interest or does not. Another similarity in these games is that checkers and chess are played on an identical board. It is usually a black and white “checked” pattern and the size of the board and the players can vary. Some boards are tiny magnetic portable ones that people can enjoy while traveling. Others can be very large and created on lawns or in shopping malls and played with living players.

Checkers and Chess can also be played on the Internet and this offers a nice option for people in the mood to play but unable to find a friend or family member with time to indulge. Playing these games online provides a ready source of players more than willing to teach you a thing or two.
